(PhatzRadio / AP) — HOUSTON — Craig Biggio thinks he might have been bypassed for the because he was on the ballot for the first time with several big stars linked to performance-enhancing drugs.

Biggio received the highest vote total in a year that produced no electees to Cooperstown on Wednesday. Biggio, 20th on the career list with 3,060 hits, appeared on 68.2 percent of the 569 ballots — 39 votes shy.

Steroids Era stars , and were also on the ballot for the first time and all fell far short of the required 75 percent. Biggio thinks it’s unfortunate if he was lumped in with others associated with performance-enhancing drugs

“I think it’s kind of unfair, but it’s the reality of the era that we played in,” he said. “Obviously some guys are guilty and others aren’t, and it’s painful for the ones that weren’t.”

He wasn’t completely sure whether about the others played a role in his coming up short.

“I can’t get in the minds of the writers, but it’s a possibility that that could have definitely been part of the deal,” he said.

Later, he seemed to tire of the incessant questions about whether being on the ballot with players linked to steroids kept him out of the Hall of Fame this year.

“All I know is that I went out there and played the game and I loved the game and I went out there to win, and we have a lot of on that wall out there that represent that, and that’s really the most important thing to me,” he said.

He thinks he probably also was hurt by the of some writers not to vote for first-time eligibles. Biggio, who played his entire 20-year career with the Astros, was disappointed but says the exclusivity of the Hall makes getting in mean that much more.

“When you look at the Hall of Fames, that’s what makes pretty special, pretty unbelievable. We’re not letting six guys in every year,” Biggio said. “You had a list of a lot of guys that were very qualified and nobody was let in. It just says a lot about how special that building really is.”

Biggio retired after the 2007 season as Houston’s leader in games, at-bats, hits, runs, doubles, extra-base hits and total bases. He is second in franchise history in RBIs and stolen bases and has the third-most home runs.

Voting is done by writers who have been members of the BBWAA for 10 straight years at any point. Biggio doesn’t have a vote, but said he would have voted for both Bonds and Clemens if he did.

“Barry Bonds was the greatest hitter that I’ve ever played against … and Roger was one of the greatest pitchers of all time,” he said. “I would have yes, I think those guys are Hall of Fame players. Barry and Roger, their numbers speak for themselves and what they did on a baseball field speaks for itself.”

Fellow Astro Jeff Bagwell also was among the top vote-getters with 59.6 percent. He debuted in 2011 with 41.7 percent and jumped to 56 percent a year ago.

Biggio said it would be special to get inducted alongside his longtime teammate and friend.

“We got a 68, and I’m going to go back and study a little harder and hopefully get a 75 next year,” Biggio said with a chuckle.

5 ways to ace your very first date

844f1d9266e1404fa37692bab498f274 5 ways to ace your very first date

(Phatforums News / .com) — So many potential begin — and end — with a . Sometimes it’s obvious why two people don’t click. But a slew of baffled singles are still left scratching their heads wondering, “Was it something I said?” when a turns out to also be the last. Since that initial encounter does make such a strong impression, we asked dating experts and and women what they think spells success from the get-go. Below are their best tips, broken down by gender.

What men want women to do on a first date:

1. Tell him where you want to go
If your date asks, “Would you rather go to this new tapas bar I heard about or just catch a bite at the local diner?” quit trying to second-guess what he wants to do and just state your . “Guys want to ,” says Jillian Straus, who interviewed more than one hundred singles across the country for her book, Unhooked Generation: The Truth About Why We’re Still Single. “If you have a for where you want to go or what kind of food you want to eat and he asks, tell him. It takes the pressure off him and lets him make you happy.”

2. Don’t stress if the meal’s not quite right
Sure, Harry found Sally’s quirky endearing, but there are few things guys fear more than a woman who orders her dressing on the side, her steak rare-to-almost-medium-rare (but not a tad more than that!) — or who complains her meal’s too hot, too cold, or just plain unappealing. “A guy hopes that whatever the date brings, she can have a and go with the flow,” says , author of Men Are Like Fish: What Every Woman Needs to Know About Catching a Man. After all, if you’re this much of a about your meal, how high-maintenance will you be as a girlfriend? And what kind of will you begin noticing about him if he sticks around? Enough said.

3. Make a genuine offer to pay
If asked, most guys would say they’re happy to pick up the check on a first date. But that doesn’t mean you should sit back while he pulls out his wallet. Why? “He doesn’t want to feel like he is being taken for granted,” says Straus. “He is willing and most likely plans to pay already, but he wants you to appreciate it, not expect it.”

4. Be courteous
You don’t need to read Emily Post’s etiquette advice before he picks you up, but a little courtesy goes a long way to making a guy feel appreciated. And while refraining from checking your BlackBerry or cell phone is a given, there are smaller things women often neglect that can make a big difference. For example: say “thank you for the lovely dinner” at the end of the meal; tell him that you like his shirt. Let him know you appreciate the fact that he made the reservations. Those little niceties add up in a big way.

5. Kiss him (if you are so inclined)
“Finally,” your date thinks as he leads you to your door, “a great date with a fun, interesting and attractive woman.” What should you do next? It’s no secret that guys put a lot of stock in feeling chemistry with someone. So if you had a good time, don’t be shy and ruin his hopes with the dreaded cheek-turn maneuver. That’s right, kiss him if you’re feeling it. A peck on the cheek is sweet, but if you’re smitten with him and willing to smooch on date #1, a kiss on the lips will make his night. And that good-night smooch is “not necessarily a makeout thing,” says one 43-year-old dater from New York, NY, “but one that is just slightly more than a peck on the cheek is a total thrill and gives me the go-ahead to call her for another date.”

What women want men to do on a first date:

1. Give her a little advance notice
Sure, it’d be nice to think saying, “So, wanna get dinner tomorrow night?” would be taken as a sign that you’re really into a woman, but it actually has the opposite effect. By asking to see her so soon, you’re subtly implying that her schedule’s just a big, blank slate and that she probably has nothing planned for a Friday or Saturday night. “I’m just as busy as he is, so it’s great when he calls at the beginning of the week to make plans,” says Emily Rukin, 30, of New York, NY.

2. Have a game plan ready
Women love a man with a plan, so be sure you’ve got at least one great idea of what you’d like to do on your big date. Just say, “Was there something in particular you wanted to do? I have a couple of ideas…” We’re not saying she won’t nix your suggestion and propose an alternative, but she’ll like knowing you haven’t just kicked back and left all the planning up to her without warning. “Women hate when men ask, ‘What do you want to do?’” says Straus. “He needs to do his homework, too.”

3. Confirm your plans together the night before
You called her on Monday and agreed to go out that upcoming Friday. Don’t wait until 4 p.m. the day of your date to check in with her. Instead, call your date the day before to figure out where and when you are going to meet each other. She’s probably gotten a manicure and perhaps even bought a new outfit. The last thing she needs is to wonder the day of the date if it’s still happening.

4. Be a gentleman
Pulling out her chair or opening doors for her may feel a bit forced these days, but many women love being treated like a lady. So give it a go and be chivalrous, and remember to compliment her when you see her for the first time at the beginning of your date — “You look wonderful; great to see you” is fine. Let her order first, or ask if you can order your favorite appetizer for both of you to share. Thank her at the date’s end for a lovely time and reference something specific, like: “What a great night. And now that I’ve heard your opinion, I definitely have to get that other Malcolm Gladwell book.”

5. Ask her for a second date at the end of the first one
Do you want to see this woman again? Let her know at the end of the first date. “I like when he asks me out again at the end of our date,” says 32-year-old Melissa Wright of Sterling, VA. “Not just a general ‘Let’s do this again’ type of comment, but a specific ‘Are you free for dinner on Thursday?’ invitation. It shows he’s interested, and it takes a lot of the anxiety out of wondering if and when he’s going to call.” And what’s better than ending a great date with the prospect of another one to look forward to?

Guy Talk: I Date Outside My Race Because My Race Doesn’t Want To Date Me

9fd53cbabc59da351c523013ed3d2cd2 Guy Talk: I Date Outside My Race Because My Race Doesn’t Want To Date Me

(Phatforums News / The Frisky) — In case my last name doesn’t make it obvious enough, I’m Asian. At the same time, as some of my friends have noticed, my last few have all been decidedly not Asian.

To their mock-raised eyebrows, my response is, “I’m sorry. It’s not my fault.”

Okay, okay, I know what they’re thinking: As an Asian, I’m supposed to like “my own kind,” right?

Sure. And eat rice … and love math … and know just how much starch to add to your … and all those other uncomfortable, we’re not supposed to talk about.

Not surprisingly, I’ve often been slapped with the “Twinkie” label. In case you aren’t hip on your semi-offensive urban speak, a Twinkie is an Asian who acts white—that is, yellow on the outside, but white on the inside.

But, here’s a secret: My for dating non-Asian women wasn’t a .

The truth is that I rarely meet Asian women who are interested in me. In fact, a disproportionate number of Asian women in my only seem to date non-Asian men. At least, that’s what it’s felt like for years now.

That’s why I decided to verify my suspicions by turning to the ultimate dating petri : .com.

On Match, people can publicly list every ethnicity they’re willing to date. So, I ran a search for women between the ages of 21 and 40, who list themselves as Asian, and who reside within 50 miles of my zip code. Of these women, I wanted to see what percentages A) specifically include Asian as one of their preferences, and B) specifically exclude Asian as one of their preferences.

My query returned the profiles of 687 Asian women. Yikes. This was turning out to be a . So, I enlisted the help of a programmer friend who wrote a piece of to scour these profiles and collect the data.

Unfortunately, that didn’t quite go as planned. Not only did the code fail to collect the data, it proceeded to send “winks” on my behalf to 18 of these women. On the plus side, two winked back, and one was pretty cute. So, my programmer friend is forgiven.

Eventually, I did manage to collect the data for 396 women. Here are the results:

169 listed no preference
116 included Asian as a preference
111 excluded Asian as a preference

Doing the math, you’ll notice that almost one-third of the Asian women on Match.com openly refuse to date Asian men. Let’s make this clear here. They’re not silently thinking, If an Asian guy messages me, I’m just not going to respond.

No, they’re publicly announcing, “If you are an Asian guy, do not bother to contact me, because I will not date you.”

Surprised by this admittedly less-than-scientific survey, I decided to scour the internet for any stats to corroborate or refute my findings. That’s when I came across this study by the Pew Research Center. Here’s a summary of the the findings, which state:

In the United States, 36 percent of the Asian women who got married between 2008 and 2010 married non-Asian, while only 17 percent of Asian men married non-Asian.

As it turns out, my half-assed, Match.com survey nailed almost the exact percentage as a national survey of almost three million households.

So, what’s the deal then?

I have a few guesses:

Traditional Asian cultures can be notoriously xenophobic. As such, a second-generation Asian-American, with traditionally-minded parents, will probably have to shoulder a ton of pressure to marry an Asian. One of my theories is that many Asian women date outside their race as a way to rebel against their parents.

More cynically, though, I suspect there’s an even deeper reason for many Asian women’s shunning of Asian men: Status.

I believe that many Asian women feel a sense that they are raising their social status by dating white men. This status issue certainly isn’t helped at all by the unfair stereotype of Asian men as non-virile and sexually inept.

Some Asian women I’ve interacted with explain that they’re westernized, so they don’t relate well to traditionally-raised, Asian men. To that, I respond with: Um, hello? Are there not similarly westernized Asian men?

But, whatever. I’m not here to argue against someone’s personal dating preferences. I’ve always held to the belief that we don’t owe anyone an explanation for whom we choose to date. If an Asian girl doesn’t want to date Asian guys, that’s her prerogative.

Still, that doesn’t change the fact that, assuming Match.com is any reflection of the general population of my city, at least one out of every three Asian women I meet has already excluded me from her dating pool.

I mean, I’d understand if I’d done something stupid to get myself banned from the pool (like, say, getting sloppy drunk and peeing into the water). But, these women aren’t even letting me in their pool in the first place. I’m the little Chinese kid standing outside, rattling the gate in envy as I watch all the other kids slipping and sliding around and having a splashing grand time.

The bottom line is, I’m not opposed to dating Asian women. I know my mom, for one, would be eternally grateful. Actually, I’m not opposed to dating women of any ethnicity. And I’ve tried. But, if I find more success dating non-Asians than Asians, who do you think I’m going to start actively pursuing?

So, my last few girlfriends haven’t been Asian. But … so what? I’ve been in a great relationship with a non-Asian girl for almost a year now, and I’ve never for a second felt that I was missing out by dating outside my race. If anything, I’m ecstatic my dating circumstances have led me to her.

My race doesn’t want to date me, and I’ve learned to accept that.

(PhatzRadio / ) — It seems is already winnowing down the list of teams he’ll entertain when it comes time to decide his next home.

And apparently his new zip code will not be in Washington.

Per insider Chris Russell of 980, the four-time MVP has told the team he will not sign there.

“A couple of different sources inside the organization have told me that Manning’s camp made it pretty clear to officials he doesn’t want to come here,” Russell said Thursday on SportsCenter.

“There’s lots of reasons for that. His brother Eli, the colder weather, the whole situation down in Miami and so on and so forth. But unless that changes — and I’m taking my sources at their word — I don’t think Manning’s coming here to D.C.”

It seems Manning’s is to remain in the AFC, allowing him to avoid more frequent against his younger brother’s . Peyton’s , , indicated as much following his release from the Colts on Wednesday.

Former coach Brian Billick was among those who didn’t feel Manning was a logical fit for the frequently floundering Redskins anyway.

“I have a tough time imagining that (Washington HC) is truly gonna subvert his system — I don’t know if that’s the right term or not — in terms of what has been successful a lifetime, a career,” Billick said recently on . “Certainly he’ll adapt, but to the degree that you need to if you’re gonna bring in ? Plus, I don’t know that they have the (roster) assets currently there to make it attractive enough to come to Washington.”

Why men like big breasts – Men love big breasts

36d453b89fc414689d9250532ca15a31 Why men like big breasts Men love big breasts

(Phatforums Blog) – Maybe you wonder why men are so attracted to . You can see it on tv, in advertising, it attracts attention. But why do men like ?

Men like big breasts because it’s a very feminine feature. Bigger breasts remind men about women and how beautiful a woman’s body is. Most men prefer average to big breasts.

Some men are attracted to average to smaller breasts, but of course, all men want to see and touch women’s breasts.

If a man likes big chested women, then it’s more of a to him. Maybe he wants to touch and feel more of them, comparing to smaller breasts.

Many women get more attention if they show breasts more, if you dress sexy you would get more attention, but is this the kind of attention you really want?

Getting sexual attention for women is very easy, but is it what you really want people notice about you?

Some women are very proud of their and want to show it to everyone, but only you know what you really want. is so powerful because someone else wants it. Sometimes women complain that sex is the only thing men want from them. So, it has its positive and negative side to it. Many young women use to get lots of attention and it does work to a certain degree.

If you are a , you need to understand that you can find a man who will love your breasts the way you are. You don’t have to have the biggest breasts in the world to attract a man, there is always someone who would have bigger breasts or prettier and etc. All you need is to find a man who will love you the way you are. Even the most beautiful supermodels can’t attract all men.

Men love women. Whether a woman has larger or smaller breasts it’s just .

Women love certain types of men too, some women love dark handsome men, other women love blond and blue eyed men, so we all have our preferences what we want.

If you are a woman with very large breasts, be proud with what you have because have a fantasy to touch and admire big breasted women.

Can attraction to big breasts be a fetish? Certainly it can be, it depends on a man and how much important it is for him.

Usually bigger women have bigger breasts. It’s very rare for a very skinny woman to have natural large breasts.

Is attraction to big breasts bad? No, it’s not bad. It can be bad in certain situations.

For example, if you married a woman with small breasts and don’t give appreciation for what she has and who she is.

Married couples should love each other and take care of each other too.

If you have a friend who is attracted to big breasted women, it shouldn’t bother you at all. People are friends for other reasons than sexual attraction. Friends are just friends and don’t worry if your friend is attracted to big breasts.

It could be a problem in your friendship if you have very large breasts and he is constantly thinks about them and wants them. Other than that, you don’t need to worry about.
