() — Autopsy results on former Los Angeles police officer Christopher Dorner show he died from a single gunshot wound to the head that was likely self-inflicted, authorities said Friday.

The renegade cop killed four people and wounded three others as part of a vendetta against his former comrades, before apparently taking his own life.

“While we’re still compiling the information and putting our reports together, the information that we have right now seems to indicate that the wound that took Christopher Dorner’s life was self-inflicted,” Capt. Kevin Lacy, with the -Coroner Department, told reporters.

Speaking at the same news conference, McMahon revealed that Dorner likely hid for days just steps from their command center in the area.

Investigators began scouring the mountains for Dorner on February 7, when they found his scorched pickup. Police, sheriff’s deputies and worked through a weekend blizzard, but the trail was cold for days.

It picked up again on Tuesday, when Karen and Jim Reynolds, upon returning to their home across the street from the command center, came across a man who looked like Dorner.

The sheriff said authorities now believe that Dorner had entered the Reynolds’ unlocked home, locked the door, and hid there for days.

In fact, when deputies knocked on the Reynolds’ door on February 7, Dorner was likely inside, McMahon said.

“In , it’s probably a good thing that he did not answer based on his actions before and after that event,” he said.

Also Friday, Sgt. Travis Newport said that authorities have recovered various items from the places and vehicles Dorner occupied, including assault weapons and semi-automatic handguns. They also found high-capacity magazines, tear gas, a military-style helmet and 10 silencers.

The developments came three days after a shootout, standoff and fire at a cabin in the mountains east of Los Angeles. Dorner’s remains were identified through dental records.

Dorner was fired from the Los Angeles Police Department in 2009 for falsely accusing his training officer of kicking a subdued suspect. After unsuccessfully challenging his dismissal in court, police say, he launched a campaign of guerrilla warfare against the LAPD, targeting numerous officers involved in his case and their families.

Dorner was cornered and died Tuesday afternoon in the San Bernardino Mountains, about 100 miles east of the city he had once sworn to protect and serve.

The 33-year-old former Navy officer holed up in the cabin after a shootout with law enforcement that left a sheriff’s deputy dead and another wounded, McMahon said.

The cabin caught fire when police shot tear gas canisters into it, McMahon told reporters this week.

Although the canisters included pyrotechnic tear gas, which generates heat, “We did not intentionally burn that cabin down,” he said Friday, echoing earlier comments he’s made on the case.

In a manifesto announcing his planned rampage, Dorner said nothing had changed in the LAPD since its scandals of the 1990s, the Rodney King beating and the Rampart police corruption case. Those allegations have struck a chord with some who say Dorner was seeking justice.

Business: Euro zone, IMF to seek Greece deal, debt write-off main problem

Business: Euro zone, IMF to seek Greece deal, debt write off main problem

() – and the will seek to unfreeze the second bailout package for Greece on Monday, but they first need to agree if some of the official loans to might eventually be forgiven to cut Greek debt.

Euro zone ministers and their deputies have held numerous meetings and conference calls over the last two weeks to decide how Greek debt, seen at almost 190 percent of next year, could be cut to a more sustainable 120 percent in 8-10 years.

Without agreement on how to reduce the debt, euro zone ministers and the do not want to resume payments of loan tranches to Athens — even though Greece has met all the conditions — because they have no guarantee on whether the need for emergency financing will ever end.

The key question is: Can Greek debt become sustainable without the euro zone writing off some of the loans to Athens?

So far, the options for debt reduction under consideration include reducing interest on already extended bilateral loans to Greece from the current 150 above financing costs.

How much lower is not yet decided — France and Italy would like to reduce the rate to 30 basis points (bps), while Germany and some other countries insist on a 90 bps margin.

Another option, which could cut Greek debt by almost 17 percent of GDP, is to defer on loans to Greece from the , a temporary bailout fund, by 10 years.

The European Central Bank could forego profits on its Greek bond portfolio, bought at a deep discount, cutting the debt pile by a further 4.6 percent by 2020, a document prepared for the ministers’ talks last week showed.

Not all euro zone are prepared to forego their profits, however, the German Bundesbank among them.

Greece could also buy back its privately-held bonds on the market at a deep discount, with gains from the operation depending on the scope and price.

But the preparatory document from last week said that the 120 percent target could not be reached in 2020, only two years later, unless the ministers accept losses on their loans to Athens, provide additional financing or force private creditors into selling Greek debt at a discount.

The latest analysis for the ministers showed the debt could come down to 125 percent of GDP in 2020, one euro zone official with insight into the talks said.

FORGIVING OFFICIAL LOANS?

To cut the debt more boldly, the IMF wants the euro zone to forgive Greece some of the official loans, in what is called Official Sector Involvement (OSI) in EU jargon.

This is an idea that several countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, Finland and Slovakia, firmly reject.

On Monday, the biggest battle is likely to be over just that.

“OSI is at the core of the problems with reaching a deal,” one euro zone official with insight into the talks said.

German central bank governor Jens Weidmann has suggested that Greece could “earn” a reduction in debt it owes to euro zone governments in a few years if it diligently implements all the agreed reforms. The European Commission backs that view.

German paper Welt am Sonntag said on Sunday that euro zone ministers were considering a write-down of official loans for Greece from 2015, but gave no sources and a euro zone official said such an option was never seriously discussed.

European Central Bank executive board member Joerg Asmussen told the German Bild paper on Sunday that a write-down on Greek debt should not be part of the deal, echoing repeated statements from German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble who said it would be illegal.

“It will be touch-and-go if we get a deal on Greece on Monday,” a senior euro zone official said. “Euro zone countries have made concessions worth a lot of money already, so it is difficult to see how this can move even further.”

French Finance Minister Pierre Moscovici said on Sunday evening that euro zone ministers made big progress to reach a common position during at a conference call on Saturday in preparation for their talks with the IMF on Monday.

“I will go with a firm determination, with a mandate from the president and prime minister, to reach a conclusion,” Moscovici said. “We are very close to a solution.”

Moscovici mentioned the reduction of interest on bilateral loans, foregoing ECB profits on Greek bonds and the debt buy-back as the options that would need to be applied for a deal as well as additional financing for Athens to keep it funded until 2016, rather than only until 2014.

NHL expected to make labor offer this week

(PhatzRadio / ) —- The NHL is expected to make a new this week, maybe as early as Tuesday, as for a new collective bargaining agreement resume in New York.

Only Commissioner Gary Bettman and Bill Daly, plus NHLPA executive director and his brother Steve, who is his second-in-command, will meet Tuesday to discuss core . But meetings are scheduled for the entire week as the two sides try to reach an agreement before the current deal expires Sept. 15.

The league has already announced that players will be locked out if no new agreement is reached. During the last , the 2004-05 season was lost.

Each side has made a proposal that the other side didn’t like, and Bettman has indicated a exists.

The league has presented asking players to reduce their share of the revenue, which totaled about $3.3 billion last season, from 57% to 46% (the NHLPA puts the number at 43%). Owners are also asking to cap the length of contracts at five years and increase the number of seasons until to 10, among other requests.

The players countered that they would take a reduced share of anticipated revenue growth over the next in exchange for the league embracing an enhanced team revenue sharing. The players say their offer is worth $465 million. Under the player plan, in the , the players have the option of returning to receiving 57% of revenue.

The NHLPA’s valuing of their offer is based on the hope that revenue continues at the current average of about 7% a season. Their contributions could be lower or higher, depending upon how revenues fall or rise.

The NHL’s team revenue sharing plan allows for about $150 million spread among teams. The NHLPA plan calls for about $250 million spread among teams. The league’s request for players to reduce their share to 46% of revenue includes a component that would put revenue sharing in the $190 million to $200 million range.

Based on last year’s revenue, one percentage point of revenue is worth more than $30 million. Under the NHL’s proposed cut, players would give up $330 million for next season.

Based on what happened in the NFL and NBA negotiations, it was expected before negotiations started that the league would be trying to get the revenue split closer to 50-50. Players argue that comparing the NHL to other sports isn’t fair because the economics of all sports are vastly different.
