CANOGA PARK, Calif.— (FSC) will introduce its newly developed Anti-Piracy Action Program (APAP) at the XBIZ LA trade show, Feb. 9 at 4 p.m.

APAP is an inclusive program that tracks content with sophisticated spidering and fingerprinting software; compiles tracking data; sends DMCA notices to infringing websites from an attorney specializing in copyright infringement litigation; offers legal consultation and litigation services; and will negotiate with third-party websites (tube sites) to post content trailers that take users to an option for purchasing content, offering the content producer an opportunity for monetization.

Program fees are based on the amount of content tracked, so that even small content production companies can participate, starting at a few hundred dollars a month. In order to sign up for APAP, participants must be active FSC members.

“We’ve pulled together top industry copyright infringement software company Vobile, with one of the ’s most recognized copyright infringement attorneys, Gill Sperlein, under the umbrella of Free Speech Coalition to provide a strategic, effective, cost-efficient program and put the in the forefront in resolving the issue of piracy,” FSC Executive Director said.

“FSC has been working with producers, distributors, software companies and copyright attorneys to develop a program that will not only work for all companies regardless of size, but also have a significant impact industry-wide on the issue of copyright infringement,” Duke added.

Development of the program took nearly a year. Adult industry experts Avi Bitton of Wicked Pictures and Tony Rios of Channel 1 Releasing were instrumental in researching and helping to select the tracking software, testing various software programs over a period of months.

A seminar unveiling APAP will be held on Feb. 9 at 4 p.m., at the XBIZ conference, which takes place at the Sofitel Hotel in West Hollywood, Calif. A roundtable discussion featuring the program will be available on Feb. 11 at the FSC Membership Meeting. The Membership Meeting is scheduled for 11 a.m. and is open to XBIZ LA attendees and active FSC members.

Vobile representative Mike Witte will be present at the Feb. 9 seminar, to answer questions about the company’s tracking and fingerprinting software.
