The latest viral video sensation features a Florida woman breaking town in agony upon learning of her husband’s death. This scene was staged, but it’s no practical joke.

Police say Dalia Dippolito tried to arrange for her husband’s murder — but made the mistake of hiring an undercover cop to do the job. Now she may be crying her way into the Weird News Mug Shot Hall of Shame

Police say she offered $6,000 for her husband’s death, planned an alibi and told the informant that the murder would make her “very happy,” according to the Miami Herald.

After staging the crime scene — even the TV show COPS was on hand to watch — police brought Dippolito to headquarters, where she found her (presumably soon-to-be ex-) husband and the “hitman” waiting for her.

She was charged with solicitation to commit first-degree murder and has been placed under house arrest — at her mother’s house.
