Of course she loves being in a relationship with you. She had been searching for the right guy and you came into her life to fulfill her wish. Now life should be totally blissful, right? As hard as she tried to get coupled up with someone special, now that she’s with you, there are probably going to be moments when she wistfully remembers what it was like to be a single girl. As happy as you are with her, there are likely things you miss about your single life too. Learn what she might be pining for and how you, her perfect boyfriend, should deal with it. If you can both be a little more accommodating in these areas it will ultimately strengthen your relationship. Harmless flirting Before you came along, she had grown accustomed to flirting with the guy behind the counter at the coffee shop she stops at every morning, her coworker two cubicles down and the single male members of her social circle. Now she has to be conscious of every time she bats her eyelashes or tosses her hair. She may occasionally slip up -- she’s only human -- but instead of acting jealous, cut her a little slack. Flirting is usually harmless, so if she’s a little extra friendly with the guy at the video store, let it slide. If she constantly flirts with other guys in front of you and is inconsiderate of your feelings, then you’ve got a genuine complaint. But if she is just being her charming self, give her a little room for some harmless flirting. Her healthy diet You probably don’t think much of your greasy food and beer diet, but there’s a good chance it’s not her usual meal plan. Many women find that when they enter a relationship, certain aspects of their lives must adapt to accommodate a man’s presence, including what they eat. As a general rule, guys are not as conscious of healthy eating as women are and she may miss a time when the fridge contained fresh vegetables. It wouldn’t kill you to try to eat a little better or try some new foods. Plus, cooking together can be a lot of fun and help you feel closer as a couple. Time to herself It’s not that she doesn’t like spending every waking minute with you, but before you walked into her life, she had a lot more time on her hands and some of it was spent by herself. As a single girl, she may have bemoaned this alone time, wishing she had someone special to share it with, but now that she’s attached, she may start to realize how valuable a little “me time” can be. Giving her a little time to herself isn’t hard, and being apart every now and then will make both of you more appreciative of your time together. Young professionals often spend more time at the office than at home. As a result, there are a lot of single men and women who don't have the time to meet new people. Naturally, they seek their potential partners within their surrounding environment -- the office. Single people feel that work is a natural place to meet new people. After all, you spend at least 40 hours a week there, with individuals of similar backgrounds and interests. Relationships with coworkers can be especially tempting because hard work doesn't leave much time for socializing. office romance - the good There are many issues -- both positive and negative -- to consider before engaging in office romances. One of the positive aspects is time efficiency, since you no longer need to search for a significant other in the evening. Why look around for potential dates when you have an office full of beautiful women? You save both time and money. A second advantage to dating someone in the workplace is that since you spend so many hours together at work, you already have an idea of what she's like. This can save you from lots of headaches down the road. A final advantage, besides the sex, is that you can carpool. Not only do you get to spend the night together, you also save on gas. Wow, what are the chances that you could date women who would save you gas money? office romance - the bad Office romances also have their drawbacks. For example, no matter how well the relationship is going, the situation itself is a recipe for disaster. The fact that couples are in constant contact with one another day and night may cause friction within the relationship. Everyone needs "alone time" to pursue hobbies or hang out with friends, and the lack thereof may cause relationships to self-destruct. Office romances may interfere with individuals' abilities to perform their professional duties. Imagine telling your girlfriend that she's fired. There is obvious potential for conflicts of interest between office situations and relationships. Be sure to avoid accusations of favoritism, which may harm the morale of colleagues. Jealousy is another negative issue. Because you must usually keep office relationships a secret, other employees may flirt with your partner or vice versa. You have to keep in mind that this type of flirting is common and happens all the time in the workplace. So keep cool or the cat's out of the bag. office romance - the ugly Before beginning a relationship, consider its potential outcomes. If things don't work out, will your work life become awkward? Prepare yourself for the unwanted situations that might follow. In order to be prepared, evaluate who's date-worthy, their position and the consequences of a breakup: Dating colleagues: Rivalry and competition may harm the relationship. Decline was anticipated by the venerable magazine back in October CHICAGO—As expected, Playboy magazine missed its rate base for the second half of 2009, Folio has reported. In October, the legendary men’s magazine announced that it would slash its rate base from 2.6 million to 1.5 million, starting in January 2010. “Of the 30 or so large circulation magazines with rate bases of 2 million or higher—including AARP, Time and Better Home & Gardens—Reader’s Digest and Playboy were the only titles to fall short of their circ. guarantee,” said Folio. “Playboy reported an overall circ. of 2,021,751, more than 570,000 off its 2.6 million rate base." Los Angeles —ASACP has launched a Spanish version of its website as a part of its international expansion project: ASACP.es. Spanish being the third most widely spoken language, after English and Mandarin Chinese, was the main driver behind choosing it as the first language the site is translated into. In preparation for the launch of the Spanish language site, Mary Gillis of M. K. Gillis Consulting volunteered her time to help rewrite the English version of the ASACP website. In addition SureFlix is currently reviewing the translated website for accuracy, according to the organization. “We needed to streamline the content on ASACP.org in order to facilitate the translation process, Mary Gillis generously volunteered a great deal of her time to make this possible and we are extremely grateful,” ASACP CEO Joan Irvine said. “In addition we needed to make sure the translation was accurate, and appreciate SureFlix volunteering their time to review the Spanish site.” ASACP has begun expanding internationally through its hosting of European Expansion Focus Group meetings at tradeshows and Sureflix introduced ASACP to key decision makers in Canada at an event. Last September, Irvine attended Webmaster Access Europe in Amsterdam to meet with the European Commission in Luxembourg. The organization’s international expansion is a long-term project and the speed of this project is dependent upon companies in Europe financially supporting ASACP and volunteering their expertise as the U.S. companies have done for the last seven years, ASACP said. Current international sponsors include AWE, LiveSex, and EuroRevenue. The launch of the ASACP Spanish language websites coincides with Irvine’s trip to the 2010 Barcelona Summit, which begins Friday. … [Read more...]
